Often parents reach out expressing concerns regarding the challenges their child is experiencing at home and/or at school. Your child may display some of these challenges:
tantrum during transitions
delayed motor skills
illegible handwriting
sensory differences such as over/under reaction to sensory input including auditory, visual, tactile, moral and vestibular
picky eating
decreased muscle tone
fidgeting in seat
decreased attention and focus
limited engagement with peers
decreased body, body-spatial and/or safety awareness
The first step we take is to perform a comprehensive evaluation which may include informal and formal assessments to determine what the underlying issues may be.
The results will then guide our next steps. Using a strengths based and holistic approach we provide a supportive environment in which each child reaches their individual goals while simultaneously increasing their confidence.
Communication and collaboration with parents, educators and healthcare professionals on the child's team is an integral component of our practice which ultimately enhances each child's success.
